Fetching task

Fetch a single Asana task by GID. Pass project_gid as a hint for scope validation when the connection covers multiple projects.

Fetching tasks

List tasks across scoped projects. Pass exactly one filter type: project, section, tag, user_task_list, or assignee+workspace. For 'my tasks' across projects use assignee="me".

Fetching project tasks

List tasks in a scoped project. For requests about the current user's own tasks, pass assignee as 'me'.

Fetching section tasks

List tasks in a specific Asana section. Pass section_gid (looked up via ASANA_GET_SECTIONS_IN_PROJECT).

Search tasks within a workspace by text and structured filters. Use for free-text or multi-field queries.

Creating task

Updating task

Update an existing Asana task. Pass only the fields the user wants to change inside `data`. To CLEAR a field set it to null (e.g. data: { due_on: null } removes the due date). Never send empty strings ('') for clearable fields — Asana rejects them.

Deleting task

Move an Asana task to the trash. Requires task_gid; the connection scope is enforced at runtime.

Duplicating task

Duplicate an Asana task. `include` controls which sub-resources are copied (notes, assignee, subtasks, attachments, ...).

Setting task parent

Move an Asana task under a new parent task. Pass `data: { parent: <task_gid> }` (or `null` to detach).

Fetching subtasks

List subtasks of an Asana task.

Creating subtask

Create a subtask under a parent Asana task. Assignee must be a numeric GID or 'me'.
